DONATIONS

Healing Hooves receives no financial support from the government.

We welcome donations in many areas of the program including the following:

Scholarship Funds

We welcome donations of any amount to help finance counselling or parenting sessions for families who cannot afford counselling and do not have access to any other kind of funding. This helps us to not turn clients away due to a genuine inability to pay. 100% of these donated funds go directly to paying for lower income clients to receive much needed counselling support with the horses.

Corporate Donations

We are frequently asked to offer programs such as counselling groups for children and youth and sometimes are not able to do this because the people needing the service have no access to any funding. There are many additional costs involved in running these types of programs including transportation, materials and snacks – many of the children coming to our programs arrive hungry. Corporations are often able to provide the funding for a whole group program allowing us to reach so many more children and families in need.

Note: Healing Hooves is exploring becoming registered as a charitable organization to allow us to issue tax receipts for donations. For now, if a charitable donations tax receipt is required, it is possible to make donations to specific programs through one of the non profit organisations we partner with to provide services.

Equipment, Tack and Clothing

We accept donations of equipment and tack that is in safe and useable condition. Examples would include saddles, bridles, halters, blankets, buckets, grooming equipment, and first aid supplies.

We also welcome new or gentle used riding clothing including boots, jackets, helmets, gloves and chaps. All sizes are welcome but we have the most use for children’s sizes.  Many of our clients cannot afford riding clothes and thus we aim to supply this wherever possible.

We are NOT able to accept donations of horses right now, especially older horses or those with special needs, as our herd is full and we already have a number of older horses in our herd with medical needs.  If you have a horse you would like to donate to an equine therapy program we are happy to share this information on our facebook page to reach other programs who may be able to accept new horses.  Just send us a photo, description and contact information and we would be happy to share this.
